We had only 2 hours for short stay in Ljubljana during our trip to Italy. We decided to make a stop to see the capital and the biggest city in Slovenia. That was the great decision! Ljubljana is the one of that cosy corners loved by romantics.

Zmajski most / Dragon Bridge Ljubljana, Slovenia

竜の橋(Zmajski most / Dragon Bridge)(リュブリャナ, スロベニア)|Short and magic Ljubljana trip(Nina Tsypnyatovaさん)

The symbol of the city is the Ljubljana Dragon. You may find dragons everywhere in Ljubljana. But first of all at the famous Dragon Bridge. The chief attraction of the bridge are four sheet-copper dragon statues, which stand on pedestals at its four corners. The Dragon Bridge, built by Josef Melan and designed by Jurij Zaninović, is often regarded as the most beautiful bridge produced by the Vienna Secession.

Tromostovje / Triple Bridge Ljubljana, Slovenia

Tromostovje / Triple Bridge(リュブリャナ, スロベニア)|Short and magic Ljubljana trip(Nina Tsypnyatovaさん)

The Triple Bridge is a group of three bridges, connecting two parts of Ljubljana's downtown, located on both banks of Ljubljanica. There was originally only one bridge, which linked Central Europe and the Balkans. In order to prevent an 1842 stone arch bridge from being a bottleneck, two additional pedestrian bridges on either side of the central one were added in 1932 according to the Plečnik's 1929 design.

Trubarjeva cesta Ljubljana, Slovenia

Trubarjeva cesta(リュブリャナ, スロベニア)|Short and magic Ljubljana trip(Nina Tsypnyatovaさん)

In Ljubljana, there are many streets with shoes on a wire. The origins were explained in another Ljubljana spot where shoes were hung up over the Cobblers’ bridge in the city centre. But lately each and every one of them was removed by the municipality, even though they were popular tourist attraction. On Trubarjeva cesta, exactly the same street where the Dežnik shop is as well (check the Dežnik article), there are several wires spanned across the street where hanging shoes remain present.

Ljubljanski Grad / Ljubljana Castle Ljubljana, Slovenia

リュブリャナ・キャッスル(Ljubljanski Grad / Ljubljana Castle)(リュブリャナ, スロベニア)|Short and magic Ljubljana trip(Nina Tsypnyatovaさん)

Ljubljana castle. Wiki says: "Ljubljana Castle (Ljubljanski grad) is a medieval castle with Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance architectural elements. The castle was built in the 12th century and was a residence of the Margraves, later the Dukes of Carniola. At the end of the 1960s, the long and extensive renovation works started. The whole renovation took more than 35 years."
Now the Castle looks like completely rebuild.
The entrance is charged.

The view from Ljubljana castle. You may use funicular to simplify the trip. Since 2006, a funicular has linked the city center to the castle atop the hill. We took one way ticket (down) to save time.

Nice completion of the travel! Sunset in Ljubljana. Looks magic. The view from The castle's Outlook Tower.
According to Wiki It dates to 1848; this was inhabited by a guard whose duty it was to fire cannons warning the city in case of fire or announcing important visitors or events. Now entrance is charged.
